An Answering Service Alternative for Arizona Trades
Our missed-call text-back is still being built, so it's quote only for now. Nothing here is ready to use today. This page explains what we're building for Arizona service businesses, so you can decide if it's worth a quote.
Looking for an answering service in Arizona?
If you searched for an answering service, you probably want one thing: fewer callers giving up when you can't pick up. A traditional answering service puts a person on your line. Night Shift is different. It is not a live answering service. It's being built to send a short text from your business to people whose calls you missed, so they know you'll get back to them.
For plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, garage door companies, pest control, and other trades that are often on a job when the phone rings, that may be a simpler fit. You still make the callback and book the work yourself.
Who is behind Night Shift
Call Night Shift is a service of Dynamic Heights Digital LLC. We work with businesses in Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and other Arizona towns. Everything is remote: phone, video call, recorded walkthrough, and email. We don't meet in person.
Arizona details that shape the plan
A text-back for Arizona trades should account for how work actually runs here. A few facts we keep in mind:
- Arizona time stays put. Most of Arizona does not observe daylight saving time and stays on Mountain Standard Time all year (the Navajo Nation observes daylight saving time, while the Hopi Reservation inside it does not). If your customers or suppliers are out of state, the time difference shifts twice a year, but your local schedule does not. Any message timing we set up will be planned around Arizona time.
- Monsoon season. The National Weather Service defines Arizona's monsoon season as June 15 through September 30. Storms can bring roof leaks, flooding, power outages, and downed lines, and calls can pile up for several trades at once. That's a period when busy owners may miss more calls than usual.
- Summer heat. Phoenix area summers are hot, and a failed air conditioner can't wait long. HVAC owners in the East Valley know how quickly the phone stacks up when it's hot.
- Area codes. Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale have long been 480 country, though 480, 602, and 623 now share the whole Phoenix metro area, so newer local numbers can carry any of the three. Farther south in Pinal County, many numbers use 520. Your message can be written for the area you actually serve.
- Licensing. Arizona contractors are licensed through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and Arizona law requires your ROC license number on many customer-facing materials. We'll talk about whether it belongs in your follow-up text and leave the final call to you.
How it's planned to work
- Someone finds you on Google Maps or your website and calls.
- If you can't answer, they'll get a short text from your business.
- You'll follow up when you're off the job.
What the text could say (sample)
"Hi, this is [Your Business] in Mesa. Sorry we missed your call. We're on a job right now and will get back to you soon. What can we help with? Reply STOP to opt out."
Why texting is still being set up
Business texting to US phone numbers has carrier registration requirements. That registration is in progress for Night Shift. Until it's approved, we aren't offering texting to anyone, and we won't make claims about delivery. We'll describe outcomes carefully because results depend on your market, your callers, and your follow-up.
Text-back plus your Google profile
Plenty of callers find a contractor through Google Maps. Dynamic Heights Digital also helps businesses with local SEO and their Google Business Profile. We can look at both together in your quote. We don't promise rankings, but we can review how your profile and your missed-call follow-up work together.
